This is such an odd experience. I feel so busy every day but in the end I know I need to rest! My belly is getting bigger and my free time is shrinking...
I heard the heart beat again when I went to the doctor. WOW is that crazy!
Five more weeks till I get to find out the sex :) Any guesses?
For a girl we like the name Jordan or Jourdan or Joordon haha (just kidding about the last one).
For a boy we like the name Silas or Sylas. >>YES the spelling matters!!
Does anyone have any suggestions for names? It's harder than you think to come up with the perfect name! Guess when I see it's face maybe I will know.

First Trimester
So far this journey has been an interesting one!
Finally all of my family and most of my friends know the news and it is going pretty well. Most didn't believe me...but then they were shocked...now happy.
One day I had an emotional break down at home because of the overwhelming feelings I was having and went over to my Aunt Patty's for advice. Any doubts I had stopped there because she jumped up and down screaming, and hugged me. This was the first family member I told other than my parents <3
I told my Mommom the following weekend. This is my Dad's Mom and she had my dad at 18 years of age. I went into the kitchen while her and my mom were talking and I said, "Mommom I have to tell you something". And I showed her the ultrasound picture. She was modest at first, and then she said, "Well I have a crib still!" She can't wait to be a Great Grandmother.
Until this point I didn't know how my Mom was really feeling about everything, but then she showed me the baby's very first outfit.....It is yellow and says, "I Love Mommy". <3 It made me feel so good to know she was finally getting excited.
That same night my Mommom, my mother, and I walked downstairs where my Pop, Dad, and Uncle Gregg were watching ESPN. Mommom took the yellow baby outfit and the picture of the ultrasound downstairs and showed them to Pop.
Mommom- "Ger, isn't this cute?"
Pop-"Well sure, who is it for?"
Mommom-"For your great grandchild!"
(Pop stares for about 30 seconds, then glances at me (his only grandchild over the age of 10).
Uncle Gregg- "Couldn't you have gotten a dog first?"
And everyone busted out laughing.
From this point on between my parents and I we shared the news with all of our friends and loved ones. They all are supportive and happy.
But....Can anyone give me advice on what to do for the sickness I feel daily?! Sure, I am extremely busy with all of my obligations but I am sick and tired 24/7. Last week I had miss my first volleyball tournament EVER because I had zero energy or nutrition because of getting sick constantly.
But otherwise, I feel more optimistic every day. I have heard some things down the grape vine that people say about me, and some of them are really nasty. All I have to say is...this is a blessing and surprise and Ryan and I are very fortunate.
As for me- I am taking 18 credits in my senior year of college. I work 30 hours a week babysitting a 2 year old and a 6 month year old. I coach a 16 year old girls volleyball team. Am the President of the
Women's Vball Club here at West Chester. And have had a tournament ever weekend of this semester and will until Easter. Plus, I am pregnant. I feel like superwoman - Ask yourself if you could do it before you talk.
Second doctors appointment Friday. I should be able to find out what the sex is in a month! Can't wait!
<3 :) Thanks for all my friends and family who have been there for me<3 I can't explain how much I appreciate you.

Finding out +
So here is a short description of how I told my parentals...
1/5/11 - Happy New Year! Humm I threw up the past two days and my boobs hurt. Oh I'll buy a dollar store pregnancy test just for the hell of it. Two full minutes later ""Ring Ring" Ryan I need to see you right now! Meet me at the Dairy Queen Parking lot." As I wait for my boyfriend to show up I actually decide to take the other pregnancy test in the Dairy Queen restroom. Guess what - two lines equals pregnant. The tears come and so does my boyfriend.
Ryan suggests we get more tests because the dollar store ones may not be accurate. Well $23.40 later, a pregnancy test for dummies confirms in big letters "PREGNANT".
A total of 5 positive pregnancy tests confirms the fate of my new life.
This was a rough night, and the next day I bought a book and began to educate myself on something I planned for years much later down the road. Sitting in the living room in the home where I grew up next to the mother that gave birth to me - I could not hold in the news even for 24 hours.
"Mom, I have to tell you something. It's big and life changing....." I'm sure you see where I am going with this. Her reaction was subtle and quiet. Nothing more than a "what are you going to do?" BEFORE Daddy Scheipe walks upstairs.
NOW let me remind you, I am an only child to these two wonderful people who have been deeply and madly in love since 16 years of age, and now they are 52 finding out their 21 year old daughter is going to make them a grandparent. ((Just so you know a little background)).
"Dad...I have to tell you something...It's Big......I'm pregnant." As he wobbles and stairs blankly at the beige wall mom exclaims "GAR SIT DOWN!" before he falls over. Two minutes later he comes and sits on the couch next to me and hugs me tight, and we cry together, just my Mommy, my Daddy, and I....with a two week old zygote inside me.
We discussed my options and the tribulations we will face. I made it clear the most important thing to me is completing my degree and raising this baby healthy and happy. Mom and Dad said they support me no matter what and they love me. We talked about when we will tell the family and we all decided to take it one day at a time.
And OMG can I just say that those days at a time were HELL for the first 8 weeks? Vomiting/feeling like I'm going to barf at all times of the day is not fun. Peeing like 30 times a day and being totally EXHAUSTED. This was rough. Not to mention my crazy schedule to begin with - 18 credits in my senior year of college, babysitting 30 + hours/ week a two year old and a 6 month year old , coaching a 16 year old girls volleyball team 3 days a week, and I am the President of the West Chester Women's Volleyball Club which take about 15 hours a week. Finding time for homework is hard enough and then to add THIS on! But hey...if I can do this semester I think I totally can be a Momma.

Blog Roll
http://ohdeardrea.blogspot.com/
This site is a blog related to pregnancy and all that goes with it. I have been cautious to share this news with friends and family - however - I like the idea of creating this blog to share my thoughts, feelings, and WIDE array of emotions to express what I am going through.
My favorite similar blog listed in the Blog Roll is http://ohdeardrea.blogspot.com/. I really like the way this woman explains herself and her situation through pictures and descriptions. She recommends other websites for example: discounted breast pumps. Oh man what am I getting into?!
Readers should totally check this out if you are either: a woman, creative, a mother, want to be a mother, or just like creative people! It gave me some great ideas to do with my own blog!

Yep...It's True.
So this is an assignment for a class I am in at West Chester University of Pennsylvania but I am thinking it might be a great way to share my journey. The journey I am on includes being a single, 21 year old, pregnant woman. :) Unexpected ... YES ... impossible... NO!
I am only 10 weeks and 3 days - but I feel optimistic and finally excited. Keep posted to see how this goes :)
